Last Month marked seven years since Spencer and I sat down and signed our life away – signed our closing papers and walked away with keys to our home.
We immediately went to Home Depot to pick up some new locks for each outer door and then went “home” to this.
We walked around our filthy “new” home – it reeked of cat urine and wet dog and gave me the hibbie jeebies – and we made a game plan. We knew there were a ton of improvements that needed to be made and a bunch of changes we wanted to make.
We wanted to take out a window and add a door…
We wanted to make the master closet bigger.
We wanted to get rid of the formal dining room and make a bigger kitchen.
We wanted to rip down the wall of brick in the family room.
And maybe get rid of all that lovely wall paneling…
As we walked around and made plans… the game plan pretty much turned into how fast could we gut… THE ENTIRE HOUSE!
Spencer went out to his truck, grabbed a sledge hammer and started knocking out walls.
We owned our home for less than 2 hours and were already making huge holes and taking out walls.
We have a secondary garage so we moved almost everything we owned into there and out of the way. We kept out a bed, clothes and a few kitchen items. Spencer moved into the basement and when we were married in June, I moved in too.
Did you catch that… into the basement.
